A rural inside, a comfortable double bed, a well-ewuipped bathroom with cosy aspects: all these things make you feel in a good mood immediately. Everything is there to enjoy your stay to your heart's content: a small welcome gift, a bundle of practical tourist information to take along but also a soft bath robe to put on after a refreshing shower. And from the moment you open the curtains in the morning you have a splendid sight of our Mount Kemmel.
“That's why we have given our guest rooms this position in the house”; our hostess Hilde says while she is showing us round the place.
Hilde and Xavier are allowed to be proud of all the work they have done together to the homestead of Hildes grandparents into the cosy B&B that it is today. The guest rooms are located in the former ' mother house ' of the pigs, though that to nothing to note. Inside is everything fully reconstructed and furnished. "The renovation has taken longer than anticipated but thereby we had more time to find what we were looking for. We wanted that our guests feel welcome right away , "said Hilde.
“From my early childhood I have been busy decorating things” our hostess says and so she has planned most of the design. For the colour combination we took a Colora specialist’s advice. One of his tips was to choose for one contrasting wall. We wanted to create a rural and romantic design by using the exact colours, furniture and fitting up. So we opted for grey-brown tints and ancient aspects. We recycled the former wooden beams, gave the wooden doors a rustic tint and chose black-white tiles for the common breakfast room.
In the breakfast room the attention is immediately caught by the imposing Falcon stove. Our host Xavier likes to cook tasty menus with seasonal products on it. Doing fancy cooking is an important hobby for him. He knows that a fine and healthy breakfast is the best start of a nice holiday. But in the evening he can also cook a fine menu of several courses for you (this only on demand).
“Heuvelland has a lot of catering establishments but for the people who want it it’s my pleasure to cook a meal myself. I like to surprise people and so I use fresh ingredients as much as possible. I prepare broth and ice myself and at breakfast there is self-made jam and fresh yoghurt from a farm in the neighbourhood.” Hilde and Xavier want to promote products from Heuvelland, so there is a suggestion list in the room.
Here you are staying in a complete green and quiet area. A pair wrote in our guest book that they were impressed by the “ deafening silence”. Here you don’t hear anything but the sound of nature or the purring of one of our two cats you meet on our site. We get a lot of requests from people who come here to get away from rush in town. We want our guests to feel well, at ease and at home. There are also gift vouchers available to be offered at any occasion.
